16 Discover Durant 2018 Texoma Medical Center (TMC) is con- veniently located on US Highway 75 and FM 691 in Denison, Texas and offers a comprehensive range of medical services including open-heart surgery, orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, and minimally invasive surgical procedures. Advanced resources, such as trauma care, support our role as a regional specialty center. The hospital offers specialty programs for stroke, chest pain, diabetes and bariatric surgery. A Local Healthcare Leader TMC brought the region its first cardi- ac care unit, breast care center, behavioral health hospital and neuro-interventional center. The hospital was also first in the region to perform open-heart surgery, and to use the robotic da Vinci® Si HD™ Sur- gery System. TMC uses this technology for complex, minimally invasive surgeries in multiple specialties including general surgery, gynecology and urology. The Texoma Heart Institute (THI) at TMC is an accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI, which means it is nationally rec- ognized for heart care and stands ready to take on cardiac emergencies. THI houses two cardiac catheterization labs with new diagnostic imaging equipment and offers trans-radial cardiac catheterization. As the region’s most established heart pro- gram, THI performs open-heart surgery and beating-heart bypass. With its opening in 2017, the neuro-in- terventional center at Texoma Medical Center offers biplane angiography, which is an advanced, minimally invasive technology used to diagnose and treat stroke and other neurological conditions, including brain aneurysms, carotid artery blockages, brain and neck tumors, intra- cranial hemorrhages and arteriovenous malformations. The hospital’s operating rooms offer advancements for a variety of compre- hensive surgical services, such as robotic surgery for gynecologic, urologic and general surgery, including single-site gallbladder removal. Laparoscopic proce- dures such as weight-loss surgery, hernia repair and kidney removal mean smaller incisions, which in turn allow for less trauma, less scarring and faster recovery. Nationally Recognized Care TMC is certified as a Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission, a recognition considered to be the gold standard for stroke care. As a Level III designated trauma center, the hospital is prepared to provide advanced emergency services to victims of motor vehicle acci- dents, heart attacks and other trauma. The TMC Diabetes LifeCenter is recog- nized by the American Diabetes Associa- tion for meeting national standards for di- abetes self-management education, while the TMC Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine has been deemed a Center of Excellence by Healogics™. The hospital’s growing bariatric surgery program is fully accredited by the Meta- bolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program — the only accrediting body of its type in the United States. Onward and upward Due to open in early 2018, TMC’s ex- panded emergency department and new bed tower will add nearly 118,000 square feet to the hospital, furthering TMC’s commitment to quality, growth, stability – and your good health. The plans include a bigger Emergency Department, with twice as many ED rooms to total 48; two additional Trauma rooms; a 16-bed Chest Pain Unit; a dedicated Computed Tomog- raphy (CT) suite and a dedicated imag- ing suite. The second floor will add 20 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patient rooms. “This season, make it All Seasons!” www.allseasonstravelok.com 580-924-9201/800-552-5484 shelley@allseasonstravelok.com 1203 W Main St Durant, OK 74701 Shelley W.
